To start and qualify as a RAID rebreather diver you need to have completed both the core rebreather level and a unit specific Speciality course.
For further education within the RAID training system, you may continue with the next core rebreather level. The unit speciality course for each rebreather only needs to be completed once.
The student will be required to complete a quick written quiz with the Instructor prior to the commencement of any in water training
Your initial training will be in a low-stress environment (pool) for the basic skills. Your instructor will demonstrate each skill for you to practice and master.
Your instructor will also ask you to perform a 10 minute float without any equipment and a 200 metre/660 feet swim, with no time limit - just to determine you have basic swimming skills.
On mastery of the confined water skills and the rebreather speciality skills, you will then move into the open water for your four qualifying dives. Here you will learn new abilities and explore the underwater world, with your instructor guiding you.
Minimum 6 hours in water required.
Just remember, all skills are under your instructor's guidance and supervision.
